Advice taken.
But don’t misunderstand. I’ve been teaching coming up on three years now. I think I have a fine feel for tap dancing for students. I can fake sincerity so well it’s a joke.
But that’s not what I’m talking about. I speak of some people’s simple lack of affinity for a particular subject.
I remember when I was younger I was an avid skateboarder for about four years. At the end of that four years. I couldn’t Ollie. A simple trick about 90% of the skateboarding population picked up in a week. Four years… It just wasn’t going to happen for me.
Some just don’t fit well in certain field. It’s a rare case, but it happens.
You cannot make up for a lack of talent by increasing your efforts.

Such revelations must occur internally, I think. I have seen people who have been verbally abused by others and their inner hope is destroyed. They doubt everything they say and they never try new things and it limits their lives, not because they are stupid but because they were told by others they were stupid. It’s like seeing a dying insect–its still alive but only going through the motions of life. I’ve SEEN it more than once. So, there’s a couple ways to apply that to this situation. You never know someone else’s background. Maybe they were abused, maybe they are have a learning disability in some way, maybe they don’t speak English as their first language, and on and on. If we don’t know their story then out impulse is to judge them as fools, take their resources and pass them off to the next guy. But every interaction with a person should increase their understanding and increase your understanding, which is way easier said than done. I am not saying YOU are not patient or kind or anything like that. I’ve seen you teach and you are very good. I’m also not accusing you of berating any students infront of them OR behind their back. But I think your correct response should have been “Huh. I’ll have to try something different.”
Anyway, fun topic. Philosophy. You know where I’m coming from. I’m basically still trying to get you to come to church! You oughtta hit up FWC again!
