Supra work.

On August - 29 - 2008

Installed the clutch slave cylinder. STILL doesn’t work. Fuck.

Just thinking of all these people who are more then happy to throw down money for a fast car. But none are willing to get their hands dirty for a fast car. Those people in my eyes don’t even own their cars.

Read and be fulfilled.

Stupid broken shit.

On August - 27 - 2008

I’d like to get through just ONE day without getting my hands dirty.

I probably had my hand in gasoline for about 2 solid minutes while I attempted to empty the CRX’s tank of the rubber unfriendly denatured alcohol/gasoline mix. The gunk from my gas tank is still on my fingernails 24 hours, and 2 showers later.

I did everything shy of taking a shot in the mouth trying to pass emissions. I’m at a loss. I give up until I can get Mr. Green to retune this car.

I pretty much spent the rest of the day in a “fuck it” mentality. Did my class prep. I did write a new macro for the front desk, which is cool. I hope it works. One second I think I’ve made the software foolproof, next minute I have someone screwing the thing up.

Afterwards I got home to the sound of my Air Conditioner in a bad mood. It took me until midnight to rip the thing apart. All the way down to the internals of the motor to find a bad bearing. I’m in luck though because the bearings that the motor uses are the same ones found on most skateboards.

I have one hell of an aptitude for being able to fix anything. Even if I have no idea how it works, I open it up, I learn, and reassemble.

But just because one has an aptitude doesn’t necessarily mean one enjoys employing it.

My priorities.

On August - 23 - 2008

Never assume that once you’re in there, that it’s pretty much a done deal.

Not driving the CRX is like a game of ‘just the tip’ unexpectedly not turning out in my favor.

You can begin to see with my growing absences where my priorities really lie. I’ve fashioned a graph for ease of understanding.

Victory?

On August - 17 - 2008

All done. That was actually a swap with very little issues along the way. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t a pain in the ass either. I’ve been long overdue for car work that didn’t involve me having to buy new tools, break things, bleed, have an aneurysm, etc.

Has a small oil leak, I imagine that’s an easy fix though.

The assault.

On August - 13 - 2008

I am slathered in grease. I hate it. I hate working on cars more then ANYTHING.

Why do I do it?

Because beating Z06 Corvettes with a four cylinder engine feels too good. There is no feeling like it. There is no drug to match it. Sex is more then bland in contrast. I don’t need anything else.

But — 340 Wheel Horse Power in a car like this isn’t free. So here I am.

Sorry.

On August - 13 - 2008

I’m not dead. Just occupied. I’ve spend the majority of my post-work afternoon the last few days working on my car. The CRX’s turbo is totally blown and I’ve barely put 10 miles of my own on it.

The shaft has insane play and the turbine blades have been hacked to pieces by the plastic that has no doubt broken off from the air filter. *sigh*

If I didn’t have another t3/t4 turbo laying around, I’d be most pissed. So I’ll be doing the swap tonight.

$10 he posts it on his website…

Double or nothing?

…Well, I don’t see it posted. HA!

Worst car work ever.

On August - 4 - 2008

Well then. It’s Midnight. Started at 2:00 PM. That was easily the WORST car work I have EVER done and ever hope to do.

Cracked it up to change the water pump. Done. But even now something is still rattling around at 2000-3000 RPM, I don’t know what. Maybe the belts tensioner is freaking out….I don’t know. I think I’ll concede this one to the shops, I’m not opening that car up for this particular problem again.
